Holy Holy Holy

I was just starting to get into music back in the mid-eighties when I heard about a new Christian punk band named Undercover. I thought, "I'll try anything twice" so I purchased the vinyl record with my own money. It may have been the first record I ever bought myself. Such a long time ago now. I've bought countless records since then.

Turns out, I really liked the band. There was no doubt that it was a Christian band. The lyrics were Christ-centered and Biblically based. What would you not expect from a punk band? Perhaps a hymn. I was so young at the time I may not have known that Holy Holy Holy was even a hymn. It was also the first time I remember noticing different singing parts to a song. Nowadays, I often think of this version of the song when we sing it in church.

I am also fond of this arrangement by one of the versions of the Acappella group. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEvuECakhbU

And yet another great version by Sounds Like Reign sung in a silo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDcis8A_8lU

My intent with this post is to share a song you may know but performed in a way you might not expect. I could probably paste links in all day for great versions of this song, but that'll do for now.
