Controlling the Tongue
James 3:1-12 (NLT Paraphrased)
If we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
A horse is led by a small bit, a ship is moved by a small rudder, a tiny spark can set a great forest fire, and we are driven by our words.
People can train all sorts of animals, but they cannot tame the tongue. It is a whole world of wickedness and corrupts your entire body. It is restless and evil, full of deadly poison, and is used for both blessing and cursing.
Surely this is not right.
